Giving Up Smoking

Ok, I know this doesn't really have anything to do with beauty products, make up or anything of the sort. But i definitely felt it was something I wanted to share with everyone, especially if it inspires someone else to give up smoking.

I started smoking when I was roughly 13 or 14 years of age - shocking! I know!! I am, well, a significant amount of years older now and I gave up on the 26th of November 2013. For anyone that knows me, knows I smoked a lot. I'd have one first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I smoked roughly 10-15 cigarettes a day or double that if I was drinking on a night out. I had tried giving up smoking so many times and through different ways. I used the patches during the week, which I thought were helpful and took that edge off the cravings, but once Fridays came along, I'd take them off, buy a box of cigarettes and smoke myself into oblivion. This went on for months and nothing broke the cycle. I tried hypnosis too. This did work for roughly 6 weeks or so before I caved one night on holidays. I always struggled massively where alcohol was concerned. I just could not shake the want or need for one and so I never thought I'd ever even get this far today. But what did it for me this time was the Allen Carr book. I had heard of so many people reading it and they gave smoking immediately. I was curious to find out how a book could make someone just give up straight away?

I bought the book, The Only Way to Give Up Smoking Permanently, Allen Carr. But I wanted an immediate effect so I watched the DVD first, which is an hour long and I read the book as a top up. Since then, I've never looked back. I did it cold turkey and it barely even phased me to do it this time round. I will say, even though I had given up and fallen off the wagon so many times, the one thing that made me stay off them this time was, I still remembered all the good benefits from the times I had given up. I also really wanted to give up. I no longer had a tight chest, my clothes smelled fresh, the dog tiredness in the mornings was gone, my skin all over my body was so smooth and fine lines and small wrinkles had literally vanished over night. Not to mention the most obvious benefit, more money in my pocket.

I'm so happy to have come this far and I honestly don't think I'll ever smoke again. Its such a hard thing to do for anyone but I genuinely feel if I can do it, anyone can. Good luck! I hope you can be as successful as I am this time round. :)
